Blog Post Rubric

Your blog entries will be assessed according to these standards:

Content

• Insufficient - Your post does not provide any insight into the topic or question.
• Basic - Your post provides a very basic, simplistic answer to the topic or question, with no evidence of reflective thought.  
• Proficient - Your post addresses the topic or question in a way which shows you have considered the matter.  Your ideas are not simplistic, and are well-described.  Your thoughts are on topic and focused. 
• Advanced - Your post addresses the topic or question in a way which shows you have thought deeply on the matter.  Your ideas are complex, nuanced, and well-described.  You remain on topic while drawing on a wide variety of thoughts and connections.

Communication

• Insufficient - Your writing contains so many errors it is difficult to understand.  
• Basic - Your writing contains errors or misuses conventions in a way that often distracts from your writing.
• Proficient - Your writing contains few errors or misuses of conventions, and those do not take away from the meaning of your piece.
• Advanced - Your writing contains few errors, and its use of conventions enhances the meaning and readability of the piece.
